Well, wonder no more, because a 33-year-old indie developer has programmed his 8-year-old daughter’s dreams into reality, and the outcome is an awesome cuteness overload filled with brave little heroes and gigantic wild beasts.
Super Chibi Knight by Pestoforce is a classic platforming hack n’ slash RPG with adorable characters and a quirky story. As the Chibi Knight, players have to save the Kingdom of Oukoku from the spicy influence of General Tso either as a Sorcerer or a Beastmaster - a choice that significantly impacts the game’s outcome.
Unique levels with their own custom look and power profile, unlockable specialty attacks, findable spells, rideable beast mounts, multi-stage bosses, and a plethora of secrets are there for players to discover in this Zelda-like action adventure.
A sequel to the popular 2010 browser game Chibi Knight, Super Chibi Knight first arrived on Steam Greenlight in June 2013, before being successfully funded on Kickstarter in March 2014, and then spending a year in Steam Early Access.
With dad Nick Pasto doing the programming and art, and daughter Bella crafting the story, concept art, and voice acting, Super Chibi Knight has finally launched on Steam for PC, Mac, and Linux to very positive reviews.
For launch week, Super Chibi Knight is currently 10% off its normal price of $8.99 until July 1st. Additionally, the original soundtrack by Brian Holmes with over 70 tracks and almost 2 hours of music is available for $4.99.
Steam might be having a rough patch at the moment, so why not transport yourself to a world of wonder in Super Chibi Knight? It sure doesn’t hurt to feel like an 8-year-old all over again.
